Year in Summary:
1st stop:
42 ladies competed at Corner Pocket in Albuquerque, NM.   Due to a technicality Ramona Biddle was able to play in the Albuquerque, NM Event.  Newly enforced rules from the WPBA stipulate “no touring pros”; however due to the “lateness” of the information from the WPBA – the Hunter Classics Tour held to the “old” rules – disallowing the top 32 for this tournament only.  Ramona was ranked 34 on the WPBA tour at that time.  Ramona went on to win the tournament.  Melanie Koger placed second and won the qualifier.

Sherri Hudson won the 2nd chance event.  She went on to win the BCA Nationals in Las Vegas in May 2001.

2nd stop:
40 ladies competed at Legends, in League City, TX.  Noriyo Yurino won this tournament and the qualifier.  Melanie Koger came in second.

Local Ladonna Ulrich won the 2nd chance event.

3rd Stop
Of the 40 competitors - 25 of the players were in contention for the WPBA Qualifier spot.   Noriyo Yurino originally from Japan, now residing in Vancouver, BC went on the win this stop to make it 2 in a row at Paradise Billiards in Denver, CO. Sarah Ellerby placed second and due to an ineligibility between Noriyo and the WPBA, Noriyo forfeited her WPBA Qualifying spot to Sarah Ellerby later that month.

Kelly Fisher from England won the 2nd chance event.

4th stop:
42 women showed up to play and Gail Lave won this event - which made it the second year in a row she has won the Arlington, TX tournament at Fast Freddys.  She lost her second match this year.  Leslie Anne Rogers placed second.

Melissa Norton from Fort Worth, TX won the 2nd chance event.

5th stop:
45 women came to compete for the qualifier spot at Pool Sharks in Las Vegas.  Ying-Ya Lin from California won this stop and the qualifier with Susan Mello of Arizona placing second.

Local Vegas artist Debra Aarens-Cerchi won the 2nd Chance event.

6th stop:
36 women came to compete and Melanie Koger won the event at G-Cue in Round Rock, Tx with eventual Tour Champion, Leslie Anne Rogers, placing second for the second time this year.

Melinda Bailey from Fort Worth, TX won the 2nd chance event.

7th stop:
The year ended at Big Daddy's in Alvin, TX with 48 women coming to compete.  Leslie Anne Rogers won the event and the tour Championship - her first Hunter Classics tournament win!

Anne Mays, local cuemaker, won the 2nd chance event.

The year 2001 saw many veteran Hunter Classics players along with several new faces.  The goal of the Hunter Classics Tour is to provide a friendly, respectful and competitive environment for ALL levels of women to compete.

A great deal of the Hunter Classics Tour success is due to the ALL the players  that love pool and come to the event to challenge themselves.  The Hunter Classics Tour is the largest, longest running regional women's tour!

All the ladies thank Wes Hunter, the Host rooms and the rest of our sponsors.
